I Tackle the Tokyo Subway Lines and WON

The Skytower under typhoon clouds!!
The threat of the typhoon, didn't change my mind about going out and seeing Tokyo. I decided on the subway as that would allow me to see several sites and they were all on the subway route.  They have different passes, one for the subway, one for the subway and metro, one for the subway, metro and train, and one for the subway, metro, train and bus.  So you can see how confusing it can be.  I got the cheapest pass ($7.00) for unlimited day pass for the subway and I was able to travel the whole day and not get lost and end up on the metro or train.  I did ask the conductor at each station for confirmation or which platform to take for each route (just to make sure)!  My goal was to see the Skytree which is the highest broadcasting tower at 634 meters ( 2093 feet?) and a elevator that takes you up to Tembo deck at 350 meters in 50 seconds. Because of the typhoon, the highest observation deck was closed.  Of course they have a shopping gallery and restaurants. They also have a planetarium that was showing Mt. Fuji so I went (I think this was the only way I could see the top of the mountain at this point!!!).   They also had Hawaii's Kua'Aina Burgers which I just couldn't pass up (since they were serving avocado burger OMG) and french fries. My hostel is on the green line and this was on the orange line. My next stop was Kaminarimon a Sensoji Temple which is the oldest in Tokyo. This Buddhist temple was built in the 7th century. During the Edo period (1603-1867) this district was considered outside the Tokyo area and it was an entertainment center (Kabuki) and red light district. After WWII parts of it was destroyed and rebuilt and now it is a popular tourist attraction. This was also on the orange line.  My next stop was the Tokyo Communication Tower and another observation deck at 250 meters. This tower is taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris (at 333 meters or 2000 feet?). It is almost the same as the Skytree tower.  Both places had 360 degree view and both pointed to Mt. Fuji but the typhoon was coming and I still could not see the mountain. This was on the red line.  Now it was getting late and the clouds look like they were going to open up and I needed to get back to the green line where my hostel was.   I just followed the route and the routes interchanged at Shinjuku and I got on the green line and two stops I was back where I started...  yea  I got back upstairs at my hostel and then the clouds just opened up and it started pouring!! Thank you God, I made it back and didn't get wet.  Tomorrow I am going to the Cat Cafe. Yes, real cats, apparently most apartments and city dwellers are not allowed to have pets here in Toyko so there are these cafes that have cats and you can go and spend time with them. And paid for the privilege!!!  Here are pictures of my day!!
