Washington, DC to Staging in Philadelphia

I received my staging orders by e-mail two days before leaving for North Carolina.  In the Peace Corps, they have several areas of staging  (staging is where you meet to leave for the country).  On the west coast it is either Los Angeles or San Francisco.  California staging are generally for countries in Asia.  On the east coast it could be DC, Atlanta or  King of Prussia (that's Philly). These are for the countries in Western & Eastern Europe. Well, with my luck, staging could not possibly be in DC because my friend lives there and that would be easy.  No, it is in Philadelphia. We meet at Valley Forge Radisson on Noon, September 22, 2011.  We register, get our rooms and start the process again (more paperwork).  We have 44 volunteers registered, but the final count will be tomorrow.  The age range is 21 years to about 70. When I served in the Czech Republic, there were 50 of us and then another 75-100 going to the Ukraine.  Once the additional paperwork is completed, we will have workshops on what is expected, safety, etc (hopefully they will feed us because those workshops last until 7 PM). FYI: No they did not feed us. Tomorrow we check out at 8 AM, get on a bus to JFK in New York, our plane leaves at 5 PM  and arrives in Istanbul 10:15 AM Saturday (non-stop)... Boy, that is a lot of fuel and a long flight.  We leave Istanbul at 2:15 PM and arrive in Baku, Azerbaijan at 5 PM Saturday.   I will be exactly 12 hours ahead in case anyone want to Skype me (my Skype number is acarlos644).  So now the next adventure in my life begins...  Please stay tune.
