Kids Konversation Klub #2

After we had been snowed out, chilled out and me being sick for 4 days, today was the only 2nd time I had conversation club.   While waiting in the teacher's room until 2 pm so I could go up stairs and write a new camp song on the board, my counterpart came in and said "Please go upstairs Annette, the children are waiting at the door for you"! (it was only 1:40 pm)  I wasn't sure if there would be any children at all but sure enough, I went up stairs and 23 children were waiting for me (2 more from another school came later)! Wow, wow!!! One of my co-teachers Aguyun helps me.  When she walked in, she was even excited to see all of those children. I wrote the Grand Old Duke of York on the board and we sang that song until they memorized it.  We sang row, row your boat (which they sang loud and clear) from our first conversation club and I hadn't seen so many smiles in quite a while.  I then grouped the kids in threes and gave them a letter of the alphabet.  They had to make English words with at least three letters in the word.  I had anywhere from 7 words from a group to 18 words where the winners received candy.  Each group wrote all words in their notebooks, so they had maybe 75 new words.  A couple of the words were spelled incorrectly and Aguyun said "Oh, they must not get that word, it is spelled incorrectly", I looked at her and said that's okay, this is not the classroom, this is for fun. She looked at me and just smiled.  More games and more laughs, this sure beats last week, when it was just so cold and miserable. I just received my packaged from my women's group, that I haven't even opened yet (I left it at school as it was too heavy to carry home). (Thank you Karen, Becky, Mary, Rexie, Sara, Diane, Debbie, Diane, & Joyce)..  I can't wait for tomorrow. This is what it is all about, and all the challenges are worth it when you see the faces of these children.  See pictures below:
