Challenges behind me??? Did I say that??? Because of my circumstances I was behind on my language classes and we were tested yesterday to see where we are. Also, we are having our permanent site interviews (where do we want to go and why) big city or village (hmmm guess what I want?) For the language test I had to talked about myself, my family in America, my host family, compare houses (host and America) and tell them about my room.. This is all going to be recorded and we should know this after being here one month!! So I wrote a script and every night my new host family (Biliryant) drilled me over and over again until I felt comfortable (NOT). No easy task for me. But I did manage to get through it and I was happy with what I did. I know I will be one of the PCV's to have a tutor. I was also suppose be off my leg and stay home per the doctor's orders, for the rest of the week, but I knew if I missed anymore sessions, I would not be able to catch up. So when the doctor called to check on me, I told him I took the mushuka (bus) to school and just sat and evaluated it all day. Some time this week, I will have it checked again by the doctor in Baku but the swelling has gone down and the pain has gone as well. Now my next challenge is the practium that will be observed by the TEFL manager. I was able to find out what grade and what lesson I will be teaching so I was really excited that I will be able to write a lesson plan. Well, I thought that until one hour ago, I received a call from Flora, our TEFL manager and she is changing the class she will be observing (should have known!!).. So I guess it is by the seat of my pants again.
But, on a positive note we are almost half way through our training (it seems like I been here for months instead of weeks)!!! Now I just have to deal with the gloom, rain, mud and cold.... AGAIN..
