Palm tree and a Baobab tree

 There are two usual trees that have came here in different ways. The first is the Palm tree by way of Arabia in the 1500. The Arabians came to mine minerals and gems and wanted to make sure they came back to the exact same place so they planted palm trees as a way of marking their spot. The elephants loved the tree so they ate the palms and would poop the seed out on their long journeys. When the rainy season came the seed would germinate and produce a tree. So now palm trees are everywhere! The other unusual tree is called Baobab from Madagascar that was brought here by them in the 1800. This tree is known as the gift of life. Over time this tree has adapted to this environment.  During the rainy seasons it stores water in its trunk and the produces a dense nutrient fruit in the summer or during drought. It is dried and made into a paste like food for children during a famine. It has saved many lives. See pictures below:
