Trouble in Paradise

When something seems to good to be true generally it isn't true.  I know you all heard that before and I know for a fact that this is true.  As the weather is finally warming up and I can actually see the sun in all of its splendor and I am also getting a routine with home and school, my "host" family decided that they were tired of the "American" and asked me to leave.  I haven't even completed my mandatory four months (per signed agreement), as if they cared, they just wanted me out.  Unfortunately, this family is wealthy and they treat people in an unkind manner.  The problem Peace Corps is having is that their isn't any accommodations in this village that can accommodate me.  So I had a choice, I could go to the city of Zaqatala and commute or they will pull me out of the region all together.  This is a beautiful region and I really would like to stay here, so the host coordinator drove out from Baku to try and find me a place to live.  I received approval from the Country Director to have independent housing (no MORE host families, I just don't have good luck with them), as I am finding host families are not very hospitable. The places we looked at were awful, only one was acceptable and there are two students living there until the end of May. I was extremely frustrated as we just couldn't find anything, I really do not want to go to a different region as I see the difference in the classroom with the one co teacher I work with, but the obstacles of finding a place are really great. If they can't find something, they will have to pull me from here.   Fortunately, we did find temporary housing for me until the suitable housing is available in May.  The family is nice (they always are in the beginning), but I essentially have my own room and sort of kitchen, I cook for myself and I am by myself which is good. I am a low maintenance person, I just don't understand why this happens to me.  I did learn something though if I ever have the privilege of hosting someone back home, I will certainly be an awesome host, giving them a place that is safe, loved and never have them worrying that I would ask them to leave before their time.  How awful I feel right now knowing I gave up a lot to come and assist this country and to be treated like yesterday newspaper.  It is very sad.  I do not have Internet at the moment, but I am working on getting it hopefully in the next couple of days.  This too shall pass, better days ahead.
